HARNESSING THE EARTH'S INTERNAL ENERGY

Geothermal energy is abundant in Iceland where the famous geysir releases copious heat (left). Underground hot water is collected in Reykjavik and I recently saw the huge storage tanks (right) when I visited the new geothermal centre that now dominates the skyline. I plan to report on what Britain is doing,and look at what could be done.
