The Village of Eastrea, Cambridge


 

This island settlement has been active since the bronze age. Only since the draining of the fens in the 18th century has Eastrea remained joined to the mainland. Eastrea boasted a large church (until the 18th century) and the village was inhabited by the Romans. Details of the village (photographs, maps, drawings, etc) will be posted here.

Meanwhile, the domain 'eastrea.net' has been registered for the exclusive use of village residents.
