Instruments at the Linnean Society of London. A Fellow and

Friends of Cambridge University Library
and past Chairman of the Scientific and Technical Committee of
the Society of Authors. Among
his books are The Revealing Lens, Mankind and the Microscope
(1973), and Images of Science -
a History of Scientific Illustration (1992). He is a
contributor to the Cambridge University Press
History of Science and Encyclopędia Britannica.
